CirQon Technologies Introduces High Power, 3 dB 90ºQuadrature Coupler for Wireless
Infrastructure Applications |
SAN JOSE, California - At the 2000 Wireless Symposium/Portable by Design, CirQon
Technologies Corporation introduced its new, high-power, 3dB 90º Quadrature Coupler for
PCS and Cellular Wireless Infrastructure applications. This pure copper-on-ceramic
product is built with Q-Clad®, CirQon's proprietary plate4d and bonded copper-on-ceramic
process. It was a featured product in the January, 2000 issue of Microwave
Journal, and it will also be discussed in the Wireless/Portable conference session
"Wireless Packaging". |
Soft boards, which have traditionally been used for these components, are limited
in power handling capability by the low thermal conductivity of their base substrate
material. This new ceramic-based quadrature offers a low cost, high performance
means to produce output power up to 400W. The robust, plated and bonded copper
process used in this design also offers superior pattern consistency, which results in
exceptionally consistent balance. This allows discreet power amplifiers to operate
